PAWS Chicago extends spring Adopt-a-Thon

CHICAGO — Are you looking for a furry companion for those warm-weather walks? PAWS Chicago is here to help.

Beginning Friday, May 3, through Saturday, May 11, the no-kill animal shelter is hosting its spring Adopt-a-Thon, now extended to nine days, to help match homeless pets with forever homes.

“As the weather warms up even more litters are born, which contributes to the homeless pet population and increases the urgent need for adopters,” said Susanna Wickham, CEO of PAWS Chicago. “We are asking Chicagoans to adopt today if they can – we need them to help us save pets now.”

The PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center will also extend its adoption hours, add additional appointments, and have a larger-than-normal selection of dogs and cats for this lifesaving adoption marathon, spokesperson Tom McFeeley said.
