Pennsylvania's Last Remaining Ski Resort Confirms Closing Day

Blue Mountain Ski Resort, Pennsylvania's final open ski area, will offer its last weekend of skiing and riding this Friday and Saturday.

Blue Mountain, home to the East Coast's largest snowmaking system, was committed to being the last ski resort open in Pennsylvania during the 2023-2024 winter. This weekend, it's set to meet that goal.

A renewed investment in its snowmaking systems for this winter certainly helped. The resort spent millions installing 74 TechnoAlpin Stick Guns and 26 TechnoAlpin Fan Guns, allowing it to triple its skiable trails for opening weekend and eventually be the last man standing.

Today, the resort is operating with two lifts and 12 open trails. Three rail features are on tap, too. Based on its webcams, conditions look sunny and slushy. Tomorrow appears similarly springy, with a slight risk of rain later in the day.

These final days of skiing are the last opportunity to take advantage of one aspect of Blue Mountain's early bird special—if you buy a season pass for next winter now, you can ski today and tomorrow for free. Passes will remain discounted until April 3rd.
