Raleigh County Sheriff Jim Canaday said the pool had opened to members on Monday, and families were at the pool on Friday afternoon, when temperatures were in the high 60’s.

Swimmers of all ages were making a splash, and they said the summer fun was just getting started.

“I’m very happy the policeman’s pool’s open,” said Steve Laraba, a member who was at the pool with his family. “It’s a great pool, a great environment, you know, and I’m very happy and excited for the spring and summer season.”

Sheriff Canaday said the pool had been closed for a few days due to weather.
