Popeyes Launches Oreo Cheesecake

Popeyes is bringing something new to its customers—and it's a sweet addition to its mostly savory lineup.

The fried chicken chain is debuting its new Oreo Cheesecake Cup for a limited time, adding to its current Strawberry Biscuit—which has been added to the permanent menu—Blueberry Lemon Cream Cheese Fried Pie, and classic Apple Pie dessert options.

The fresh treat boasts a thick and rich cheesecake filling mixed with Oreo cookie pieces, all on top of a crust made with Oreo cookie pieces and topped with even more delicious Oreo crumbles, according to the eatery's website, although there is no mention of how long it'll be available.

In addition, Popeyes also announced the return of the fan-favorite Big Box, which includes two pieces of hand battered and breaded signature chicken, served with the choice of two sides and a buttermilk biscuit. Fans have the option to upgrade the bread to a Strawberry Biscuit starting at 99 cents.

And for even more incentive, from now until October 15, 2023, customers can receive a free regular drink when ordering the Big Box meal via the Popeyes App or online at popeyes.com.

For those feeling the spirit of giving, the Popeyes Foundation will also be hosting its Food Love Grants Fundraiser—which directs funds raised in-restaurant to national and local nonprofits that provide food to those in need in the surrounding area—at participating restaurants from July 24 through August 27. Anyone who donates just $1 to the organization will receive a coupon at check-out for a free Strawberry Biscuit, redeemable during their next visit.

The Popeyes Foundation, dedicated to raising awareness and funds to strengthen communities with food and support in times of need, launched its latest initiative in May.

Through the program, the chain "will focus its support on those experiencing food insecurity, those with limited access to food and underserved, low-income and opportunity communities. Funding examples range from supporting a local food bank, after school youth meal support and delivery meal programs for the elderly to providing frontline workers disaster-related food support," according to food publication, QSR.
