Popular pizza and pasta restaurant opens a new St. Clair County location

Mascoutah welcomed a new restaurant this month when the latest Joe’s Pizza & Pasta location opened at 215 E. Main St.

The restaurant is the latest addition to the Effingham-based chain that’s been around since 1972.

It is also the fourth location in the area opened by Corey McMahan and his wife Kayla. McMahan also owns the Edwardsville, Godfrey and East Alton locations.

The Mascoutah restaurant opened on Wednesday, June 5, with a soft opening to mark the birthday of the chain’s founder, Joe Trupiano.

The restaurant filled carryout orders only for the first week and opened for dine-in service Tuesday, June 11.

McMahan was not immediately available for an interview. However, I am hoping to speak with him soon about the new restaurant and his plans moving forward.

Known for its Chicago-style pizza, Joe’s also offers stuffed crust, thick crust, and gluten-free cauliflower crust pizzas in addition to salads, pastas, sandwiches and plenty of tasty appetizers.

Check out the menu online at orderjoes.com.

The hubby usually goes for either a Chicago-style pie (toppings will vary) or the lasagna.

I’m rather fond of the pasta pomodoro (sans cheese) and fried portabella mushrooms myself.

What’s your go-to?
