The Pumpkin Spice Frosty Is Leaving the Menu to Make Room for This Seasonal Favorite

But, sorry—vanilla is still unavailable.

A frosty chill is on the horizon—and we're not just talking about the weather.

Last year at Wendy's, the peppermint Frosty made its debut as the first-ever holiday-flavored Frosty in history. Now, it’s making a grand return and replacing the brand-new pumpkin spice flavor with something a little more festive.

The peppermint Frosty combines a vanilla Frosty base with a dash of peppermint syrup for a dessert that's ready to awaken your taste buds with a dose of holiday cheer.

"It's the classic thick and creamy Frosty that our fans crave with bursts of fresh peppermint—every sweet bite will put you in the holiday spirit,” said John Li, Vice President of Culinary Innovation for the Wendy's Company in a press release last year.

Unfortunately, because the secondary Frosty flavor is changing from pumpkin spice straight to peppermint, that means the beloved vanilla Frosty flavor won’t be available anytime soon. Why? Because Wendy’s only has two Frosty flavors on the menu at a time. The classic chocolate is a permanent offering, and all of the seasonal specials use the vanilla Frosty mix as their base. Sigh

But, that’s not knocking fans’ seasonal spirit. On social media, Wendy’s fans are excited to hear about the return of the peppermint frozen treat, calling it one of their “favorite flavors.”

“It was so good last year,” said one fan with a heart-eyes emoji.

Some said the seasonal dessert wasn’t quite as minty as they’d wanted last year, but hope it’ll be more flavorful this time around. Others are just glad the pumpkin spice flavor is already taking its leave calling it “too sweet” and “nasty.” Thanks, pumpkin spice, but peppermint can take it from here.

Allegedly, the peppermint Frosty will be taking over Frosty machines on November 14 (according to snackolator on Instagram). Although that might feel like a ways away, we’d urge you to get your fill of the pumpkin spice Frosty while you can—it’ll be replaced with its Christmas-y counterpart before you know it.
