Quantum Leap Winery announces new location

Back in April, the owners of Orlando’s Quantum Leap Winery announced plans to move the operation from its Mills 50 home of 12 years. Today, they announce where they’ve landed — at The Cottage on Lake Fairview, located at 4410 Edgewater Drive in Orlando.

After 12 years, Quantum Leap Winery is moving

Built in 1928, the historic waterfront property has played host to innumerable events over the years. Quantum Leap owners Jill Ramsier and David Forrester are thrilled to be taking on management duties as the property transforms to accommodate the new operations.

“We love the site because it is waterfront with sunset views and has tons of indoor and outdoor space,” Forrester told the Orlando Sentinel. “Great for weddings as well as any other type of event including our own events.”

For now, both names – Quantum Leap Winery and The Cottage on Lake Fairview – will remain, though that could change, Forrester noted. Winery happenings will be billed as “QL events at The Cottage.”

Once open, regular hours will be Thursday to Sunday, 3 to 10 p.m., with some special events on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The venue is open to host private events, indoors and out. Lake sunset views will likely remain a big draw for groups, and a bonus for winery-hosted events.

“We are thankful for our team members and wine club members whose support has not wavered through this process,” the partners said in a press release. “We are thankful to those in the community who called and emailed asking for updates and expressing interest in visiting as soon as we reopen.”

When that happens, said Forrester, it’s likely guests will find the familiar site of barrels and tanks at The Cottage. They’re currently amid the various licensing processes, but don’t expect any issues.

“We’re in the process of moving and look forward to hosting the public beginning Friday, July 12, for wine, food and Quantum Leap-hosted events.”
