If “Challengers” wasn’t enough to inspire herds of trend-savvy shoppers to tap into sporty style this summer, then Ralph Lauren’s official Team USA Olympics uniforms, launched this week, may be the tipping point for the final stragglers that have yet to give into the fashion world’s insistence that prep is back.

Of course, the legacy American fashion company knows that they have to create a balanced marriage between relaxed and tailored to make the preppy style palatable to today’s modern day shoppers. And between the Opening Ceremony’s spiffy, cropped jeans, the Closing Ceremony’s fun moto-style jackets with playful patchwork and the Villagewear assortment of white cotton shorts, there is something for everyone — no matter their prep comfort.
The Opening Ceremony ensemble, which is the exact outfit that the Team USA players will wear during the Paris 2024 Olympics commencement, consists of a striped button-up Oxford shirt, lightwash denim jeans, a single-breasted blazer, liner socks, a leather-trimmed jacquard strap belt and, to fully realize out the American (prep) dream, a pair of White bucks.
While the individual pieces can be mixed and matched to cater towards diverse styles, those with less traditional sensibilities might be bigger fans of the more casual Closing Ceremony outfits and the Villagewear lineup, the latter of which is designed for the athletes to wear between games. The Paris 2024 Olympics will kick off with the Opening Ceremony on July 26 and run through the Closing Ceremony on August 11. The games will broadcast across USA Network, Golf Channel, CNBC and E!, but cable-cutters can stream the action live online through Peacock and live TV streamers such as DirecTV and Sling TV.
