Rescuer Shocked to Find Senior Cat with the Cutest Surprise Roommate

A senior cat rescuer went into her cat room to feed all of the cats she cares for and was met with a very interesting surprise when she looked into one of the kennels.

One of her elderly cats found himself living with a pretty adorable new roommate.

The video was uploaded by the TikTok account for @Sovereign.warrior.being and people are too amused by this entire situation.

One person commented, "It's her emotional support baby possum!" Someone else replied, "The cats are like.. oh him? That’s just Jerry.. he’s fine.. he’s been here all night.."

One person added, "Congrats. The possum distribution system chose you so now you have a new rescue possum."

Someone else suggested, "I bet he came in through the catio fence b/c he can fit thru the holes, and latched on to one of the cats when the cat was outside, and the cat accepted the opossum as it's baby...?" Haha! That's a pretty cute theory and the cat does seem totally unbothered by his new little friend.

I wonder if somehow the cat got outside and this little baby latched himself on to him? And what's to keep other possums for entering the building and joining in on this slumber party?

Possums are such fascinating creatures and I'm sure plenty of us have seen videos of people who have possums as pets and they are just too cute. Possums are the only marsupials found in North America. That means they are like kangaroos and carry their newborns in their pouch. When the babies get bigger they hold onto the back of their mamas.

Possums use their tails to hold onto things while climbing, and they can also use their tails to carry small objects.

That baby possum probably felt right at home with that cat, because possums also clean themselves constantly like cats do. Both animals are very clean.

Even if they put this little guy outside, he may soon be back. Possums have an excellent memory, especially when it comes to remembering food sources. If that cat had a bowl of food in his kennel he may have a forever roommate!  Studies have shown they can recall the location of food better than rats, cats, and dogs.
