Last week, a Los Angeles judge officially approved Riley Keough, Lisa Marie Presley's eldest child as the sole trustee to her late mother's estate, according to reports. This meant that the Daisy Jones & The Six star became the owner of Graceland, her grandfather, Elvis Presley's iconic Memphis, Tennessee home. Upon Elvis' death in 1977, it was inherited by his daughter, Lisa Marie, who sadly passed in January this year.

And now – just days after the decision, which ended a dispute between Priscilla and Riley, after the former filed a petition to challenge the validity of Lisa Marie's will in January – Riley has given a small glimpse into what life has been like since her mother died. Including an insight into her relationship with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley and how the settlement affected them.

(Basically, Priscilla argued against a 2016 amendment to her daughter's will that removed her as trustee and replaced her with Riley and her late brother, Benjamin. Riley then filed a 73-page petition on 12 June this year in support of her appointment to head the family trust, as per Deadline.)

Speaking to Vanity Fair in an interview dated 8 August, Riley explained: "When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives. Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us."

"Everyone was in a bit of a panic to understand how we move forward, and it just took a minute to understand the details of the situation, because it's complicated."

The 34-year-old continued: "We are a family, but there's also a huge business side of our family. So I think that there was clarity that needed to be had."

In regards to Priscilla, she said: "Things with Grandma will be happy, they've never not been happy." She then noted that there "was a bit of upheaval" but now "everything's going to be how it was" adding that her grandma is a "beautiful woman."

"She was a huge part of creating my grandfather's legacy and Graceland. It's very important to her. He was the love of her life," she continued.

"Anything that would suggest otherwise in the press makes me sad because, at the end of the day, all she wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy."
