Sam's Club Just Slashed the Price on Its Popular Membership Fee—But There's One Catch

It's hard to escape the upcoming Amazon Prime Day. Commercials for it aired during your Saturday and Sunday football viewing. Articles giving the 4-1-1 and early deals are literally everywhere. It's a great way to find items you've been eyeing at low prices or get a jump start on holiday shopping. In a surprise move though, Sam's Club may have just leapfrogged Jeff Bezos and company with a membership flash sale you didn't know you were craving.
Typically, a Sam's Club annual membership is $50. Now, however, the warehouse is sweetening the pot by chopping $20 off its membership fee. Yup — you can now get a year of Sam's Club member exclusive benefits for $15. That's $1.25 per month.
Unlike some "October Black Friday" deals (and Black Friday deals, more generally), which may or may not actually be the best deals on items, this Sam's Club membership flash sale is truly rare. The warehouse seldom slashes its membership prices, so the odds of the sale happening again in December are slim to none.

The catch? You have until Sunday, October 15 to take advantage of it.
The Sam's Club fee is already lower than the $60 Costco charges for a Gold Star membership (which you now have to pay if you want to shop because of the card-sharing crackdown).
