This year, the district will celebrate with a tour showcasing its services, its laboratory surveillance and mosquito-borne disease testing, mosquitofish information, and equipment used in mosquito control.

There will also be a mosquito larval feeding every 30 minutes and a mosquitofish giveaway.

The "Mosquito Mania and the Mosquitofish Giveaway" is an outdoor event for San Joaquin County residents.

There will be complimentary tacos and a drink for the first 200 people completing the district's tour, a grand prize drawing for a family four-pack and overnight stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca, and KAT Country will be on-hand providing music.

There will be a fun section for children with a coloring contest for three different age groups. The winner in each group will be chosen by district staff and posted on its Facebook page. Children can also try magnetic fishing in a plastic pond to win prizes.

Each resident will receive up to 25 fish, depending on the size of the area where they will be placed. Fish-carrying containers, informational brochures, and a small bag of fish food will be provided. Residents must present identification and disclose where fish will be placed.
