Scared Rescue Dog Who Wears 'Brave Girl Ears' In NYC Needs a Forever Home

We can't even begin to comprehend what rescue animals have gone through that makes them so afraid. From being neglected or abused to being crammed in small spaces, animals have unfortunately been through a lot. That's why it always takes time to get a rescue animal to trust you, but if you're willing to put in the time, it will be one of the most rewarding things you can do in life.

One example of how challenging it can be to rescue a dog is working with them to tackle their fears. This sweet rescue dog named Violet is terrified of loud noises and living in New York City doesn't help, but she's slowly getting better with her "brave girl ears." Take a look at this clip shared by an animal rescue center known on TikTok as @muddypawsrescuenyc.

Aww, look at Violet go! It's so sad to think about what happened to make this rescue dog so nervous and fearful about being outside. And living in New York City probably doesn't help either. The current foster family said that they can't be outside much longer than 10 minutes and they haven't made it past a one block radius from the apartment. They're working on positive reinforcements and associations to being outside.

We know that rescue animals won't tackle their fears overnight. It takes a ton of time and patience. But we are so proud of the progress she's made so far with her foster family. And we hope Violet knows that she's not the only dog scared of noises. Plenty of dogs are fearful of loud noises. Her "brave girl ears" will protect her!

If you're interested in adopting sweet Violet, or another one of the rescue center's other animals, please visit the Muddy Paws Rescue NYC website for more information. Let's get this doggo to her forever home, preferably in a quiet neighborhood, ASAP!
