Scorpion STEAM Academy’s summer camp foster innovation

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada State University’s Scorpion STEAM Academy now offers summer camps for kids across the Valley. It’s the program’s second year preparing students to become innovative.

The academy in Henderson offers concepts from arts to sciences and everything in between. It’s a place to keep 4th through 8th graders busy over the summer.

The program covers all parts of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Students can participate in classes ranging from graphic design, coding, medical science, forensics, and more.

The camp’s newest addition is Scorpion Detectives. “It’s our most popular,” said Tom Nicholas with Nevada State University.

Camps are open now until July from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. To 4 p.m. At Nevada State University. There are still available slots to enroll. More information can be found at this link.
