See Pat and Brittany Mahomes Visit Parade Shooting Victims at Local Children's Hospital

In the wake of a mass shooting that killed one and injured 22 during the Kansas City Chiefs Victory Rally and Parade, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes visited a local hospital to spend time with two young victims.
The Chiefs quarterback and his wife paid a visit to Children's Mercy Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 15, to see a pair of sisters, ages 8 and 10, who were shot in the legs during the act of violence at Union Station on Wednesday, Feb. 14, TMZ reported. Reportedly, the girls both underwent surgery on Wednesday.
In photos shared with the outlet, Pat and Brittany posed with each sister as the girls held mini Chiefs helmets—apparently gifted by the couple. A statement from the Reyes family read, "We want to give a personal thank you to the staff of Children’s Mercy Hospital and Patrick & Brittany Mahomes for their outpouring care, love, and support," per TMZ.
A GoFundMe campaign was started for the Reyes sisters; so far, $64,000 of the $75,000 goal has been achieved.

The sisters are reportedly related to Elizabeth "Lisa" Lopez-Galvan (daughters of a cousin), who tragically died after she was shot during the parade, per KMBC News. In the wake of the mass shooting, Taylor Swift made a $100,000 donation to Galvan-Lopez's family.
Additionally, Patrick, Brittany and their 15 and the Mahomies Foundation donated $50,000 to KC Strong— a new emergency fund for shooting victims in partnership with the United Way of Greater Kansas City. The Kansas City Chiefs teamed up with the NFL and the Hunt Family Foundation to also donate $200,000.

Patrick shared via X that Chiefs fans have “always been there for me and my family,” and that he and Brittany “want to be there for them.” He urged those who are able to make a donation.
