Sesame Place is hosting a Low Sensory Day as the Middletown theme park works to create a more inclusive park environment for children of all needs.

On the Low Sensory Days, Sesame Place will hold the following modified events:

·       Low Sensory Dine with Elmo & Friends: The 9:30 a.m. Dine with Elmo & Friends breakfast will be a low sensory experience, with a reduced volume level and optional character interaction for a less stimulating environment.

·       Low Sensory Show – Guests can enjoy the 12:15 p.m. showing of “Welcome to the Party!” at Abby’s Paradise Theater with a reduced volume level and limited audiovisual effects.

Guests seeking additional information find it online. Sesame Place is a designated Certified Autism Center by the International Board of Credentialing and Continued Education Standards (IBCCES). The park offers accommodations like the Low Sensory Room, the Ride Accessibility Program and Special Access Pass, noise cancelling headphones for guests, the Family Care Center, and low sensory options for viewing parades and dining.

Additionally, to honor Autism Acceptance Month, Sesame Place is giving away free Sesame Street storybooks at the Welcome Center. Julia, known for being the first Sesame Street character to be diagnosed with autism will also be available for meet and greets throughout the month of June.
