From Woman's Day

Ikea has everything you could ever want when it comes to furnishing your home. From stackable beds with two mattresses — for those of us who always have friends staying over — to chaises with a side table and a lamp for those who like to do a little late night reading.

They never fail to surprise us, and are always pushing to create fresh, new, innovative adaptions for the home. Which is why I am not surprised about their new, highly-anticipated Murphy bed, ROGNAN.

On Tuesday, at its annual Democratic Design Day event Ikea, announced that it will be releasing a new unit that's a game-changer for small spaces. ROGNAN is a bed, closet, sofa, and desk all in one! The unit allows you to conserve space by allowing you to fold and put away things depending on what you need. You need to go to sleep? Pull out the bed. You need to do some work? Push the bed in and pull out the desk.

The new unit will be made in collaboration with Ori, a MIT-based start up. ROGNAN has a robotic platform that was created by Ori, which is what helps make the unit more compact and easy to move.

This new unit will be perfect for people that live in small apartments or studios because it can be whatever you need, whenever you need it! No more spending weeks trying to find the perfect bedroom set that isn't too big or too small.

Sadly, ROGNAN isn't set to launch until 2020. It'll make its debut in Japan and Hong Kong. We're marking our calendars!
