Summer discounts on the LIRR for Long Island beach trips

LONG ISLAND (PIX11) – With Long Island beaches finally open for the summer season, a number of packages and discounts will make Long Island’s sandy shores more accessible.

Starting last weekend, ticket bundles and discounts are sending people to Fire Island, Jones Beach, Robert Moses and Long Beach.

Celebrating International Burger Day

Take a look at the summer discounts for Long Island beach trips:

  1. Long Beach Package: Discounted LIRR trips to and from Long Beach, beach admission, voucher for discounts at local shops.

    1. Valid weekends from May 25 – June 23; every day from June 27 – Sept. 2

  2. Jones Beach Package: Discounted LIRR tickets to and from Freeport station and NICE Bus N88 to East and West Bathhouses. Access to beach and concerts at Jones Beach Theater.

    1. Valid daily from May 24 – Sept. 29

  3. Robert Moses Package: Discounted LIRR tickets to and from Babylon station and on Suffolk County Transit bus (15) to and from beach.

    1. Valid daily from June 22 – Sept. 2

  4. Fire Island – Watch Hill: Discounted LIRR tickets to and from Patchogue station and vouchers for Davis Park Ferry.

    1. Valid daily from May 25 – Sept. 2

  5. Fire Island – Davis Park: same as Watch Hill with additional Lindy’s Taxi vouchers to and from the ferry terminal.

  6. Fire Island Beaches – Cherry Grove, Fire Island Pines, Sunken Forest at Sailers Haven: Discounted LIRR tickets to and from Sayville station, round-trip Colonial Taxi vouchers and round-trip Sayville Ferry vouchers.

    1. Valid daily from May 25 – Sept. 2

  7. Fire Island Beaches – Kismet, Fire Island Lighthouse, Ocean Beach and Ocean Bay Park: Discounted LIRR tickets to and from Bay Shore station, round-trip David Brothers Taxi vouchers, round-trip Fire Island Ferries vouchers.

    1. Valid daily from May 25 – Sept. 2

And, extra weekend service to Greenport, the Hamptons, Montauk and Long Beach to help New Yorkers get to the beach.

The Long Island Railroad and Metro North will also bring back its annual summer discounts for monthly ticket holders, offering friends and family tickets for just $1.
