Surf legend Lisa Andersen is a four-time world champ who paved the way for women's surfing back when it was still a totally male-dominated sport.

Now retired, Andersen was the last woman from Florida, or anywhere in the Mainland U.S., to win a world title since 1997 until Caroline Marks beat Carissa Moore at Lowers earlier this month.

Now Andersen has taken to social media to send another message of congrats to Marks and relive her monumental world title wins.

Roxy posted the clip above yesterday and captioned it:

"From one World Champ to another. To celebrate @caroline_markss, we asked our champions to share their first World Title memories. @andersenlisa recalls her first and the relief of overcoming everything to become the best."

In Andersen's selfie clip, she gushes about being super proud of the new world champ. But in the middle of the Marks love, Andersen recalls her own wins:

"I remember when I won my first world title. It was such a relief to finally win after so many things that I felt were going wrong at the time but you just never give up, and you persevere, and you get through it all. And good things happen to good people.

If you've watched the documentary about Andersen entitled, "Trouble: The Lisa Andersen Story," that came out a few years ago you'll know what "things going wrong" means.

And if you haven't watched it, you should.

Marks commented a heart emoji, while fellow Roxy girl Kelia Moniz left her own trail of emojis too.

Other viewer comments include:

"Beautiful."

"It must something in the water at the inlet."

"Lisa, you’ve always been such a class act and awesome waterwoman. Well said."
