Today, pro surfer Italo Ferreira, surf writer Laylan Connelly, and Fernando Aguerre, president of the International Surfing Association, have joined the "who's who" of surfing in the Surfers' Hall of Fame.

The organization has honored members of the surf community who have made meaningful impacts on the sport’s culture and industry since its inception in 1997.

It’s an honor for anyone who loves surfing to be immortalized through the ceremony by leaving a lasting imprint on the sidewalk.

Huntington Surf & Sport's (HSS) owner Aaron Pai captioned the post above:

"It’s a beautiful day to have a beautiful day! @italoferreira @ocbeaches @fernandoaguerre Thank you for your amazing inductions in the Surfers’ Hall of Fame on this beautiful day!"

The clip shows a crowd celebrating Ferreira, Connelly, and Aguerre, each wearing a Hawaiian lei while putting their imprints into the sidewalk among many surf legends.

The ceremony took place in front of HSS, where a statue of Duke Kahanamoku overlooks the site. The area is just steps from Huntington Beach Pier, the site of the Vans U.S. Open of Surfing.

The three new members joined surf legends such as Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, Laird Hamilton, and Ben Aipa, among many others.

“The sport of Surfing has such an amazing history, spirit, and culture all its own. We are super stoked to be able to preserve a part of our Surfing History in this unique and special way, for future generations to enjoy. We are here for the love of surfing. That is our main purpose, our passion, and our drive behind what we do,” Aaron Pai, founder of Surfers’ Hall of Fame said in a press release.
