Taco Bell is bringing back the Volcano Menu

Fans spoke, and Taco Bell listened. The chain noted in their announcement that “the menu, famous for its fiery flavors, has developed a cult-like following who have relentlessly championed its return.” This is no joke–there’s even a Change.org petition to “Bring Back Volcano Menu,” and it has over 2,000 signatures.

“Like many of Taco Bell’s iconic menu items, the Volcano Menu is beloved for its craveability to superfans and the everyday enthusiasts who value exclusive offers,” the restaurant continued. “From petitions, to recreating their own DIY alternatives from home, Taco Bell fans took to social advocating for the return. Taco Bell heard and is making this summer hotter than ever.” All customers will be able to order from the Volcano Menu on June 29, and rewards members will get an early taste starting on June 27.

What is the Taco Bell Volcano Menu?

So, what does this menu entail? We can look forward to the Volcano Burrito, Volcano Taco, and the option to add spicy nacho Lava Sauce to any item.

The Volcano Burrito was added to Taco Bell’s menu in 1995 as part of promotion for the sci-fi movie “Congo.” Its counterpart, the Volcano Taco, made its debut years later, in 2008, according to Taco Bell Wiki. This taco features a red shell, ground beef, lettuce, and Lava Sauce.

Unfortunately, Taco Bell notes that these items will not be permanent additions to the menu; they’ll only be available for a limited time. But at least we’ll be able to itch that scratch for both nostalgia and spice this summer–even if the relief is fleeting.
