Target Is Selling an 'Excellent For Summer' $25 Linen-Blend Skirt So Similar to a Madewell Style Almost 4x the Price

Skirts are the perfect summer item—they show off your legs in nice weather, they can be a fancier alternative to shorts if you need that and they’re special for the season since they're not something you can wear comfortably in really cold weather. Target’s newest skirt is not only cute for summer date nights, but it’s also made from a linen blend which means it's perfectly lightweight. Not to mention it’s similar to a Madewell style that’s almost four times the price.
We’re talking about the Women's Tailored Fashion Mini Skirt by Target’s women’s apparel line, A New Day. It’s currently $25 and comes in two colors: black and a pretty baby blue. It has a “regular” rise and is a short, feminine skirt with two pockets in the front and no frills or accents. There’s a side zipper so there isn’t a button or fly closure in the front, and it’s made with the lightweight linen blend of 55% linen and 45% rayon.

Women's Tailored Fashion Mini Skirt - A New Day, $25 at Target
The “tailored” fit of the mini skirt is supposed to create a design that hugs the body but still gives the wearer comfort. And based on the handful of reviews people have already left on the listing, people seem to really like this skirt. One person said they bought this skirt for their daughter, who is 5’1”, and it wasn’t too short at all.
“It looked great, respectable, and the linen material is excellent for summer," they also wrote in their review.
Another person wrote that this is truly a “great little mini skirt.”
And then the linen compliments just kept coming. One shopper wrote that this was the “perfect summer mini,” with the linen being a great idea for summer. And another said that the soft linen of the skirt is the main selling point for them.
“Linen is my fabric of summer so I knew I had to have this as soon as I saw it was a linen blend,” they wrote. “Super soft and the cut is perfect on me in my usual size. I just love that Target has so many Linen items this summer in black. I don't know why but black just adds sophistication to linen for me. Highly [recommend]."
Welt-Pocket Mini Skirt, $98 at Madewell
As we mentioned before, this skirt is pretty similar to Madewell’s Welt-Pocket Mini Skirt. It’s currently $98 and is made with 100% “lightweight” linen. It has the same two front pockets and a simple mini-skirt design with a zipped closure in the back.
The black is the closest to Target’s skirt (also in black), but it also comes in a Sesame Maeve Glen Plaid (which is a beige and white plaid).
