In the past week, my mind has been on all things Bridgerton (and House of the Dragon, but that's for another day). If I'm not searching for hidden Easter eggs or watching behind-the-scenes footage, I'm taking a deeper dive into the show. Interestingly enough, I found something in common between Penelope Featherington and I: a trusty mascara. Lead makeup artist Jessie Deol has been sharing all of Pen's looks this season on her Instagram, where she offers product breakdowns that often include the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara ($29).

Whether Penelope was getting engaged to Colin or she was revealing herself to be Lady Whistledown, the MUA relied on this mascara to push forth the story. While my life isn't a dramatic love story like Pen's (yet anyways), the mascara does have a way of elevating my natural lashes, too. I've had it my collection for a while and finally decided to give it test drive to see if it's worth the hype or just made for TV.

Aside from appearing on the biggest show right now, it's been a viral mascara online for a while. It has over 19,000 rave reviews on Sephora—and as of right now, it's become a new favorite of mine. It's known to volumize and length lashes without looking a like spidery mess. Thanks to its unique hour-glass shaped brush, it allows me to separate and coat my lashes—so no clumping involved.

My lashes are usually slightly curly, but the mascara takes it up a notch. I don't have to rely on a lash curler to get a subtle or dramatic lift. I appreciate having flexibility as one coat of mascara provides nice definition (as seen in the first picture) versus adding two coats and mimicking falsies, but again not looking too bold (as seen in the second photo).

Formulated with polymers and peptides, the mascara promises to lock curl in place and condition lashes. I found while wearing it throughout the day that it was comfortable and lightweight. I did try a rubbing test and saw some minor flaking. However, it's not much of a downside for me. I also wish this one was waterproof. (I'm aware they came out with a waterproof version, but some reviewers say it doesn't hit the same as the original.)

Once I applied the product on both of my lashes, I immediately saw the difference. If I had other eye makeup on, like eyeshadow or liner, I can see how it could pull a look together. The way it worked on my lashes and completely transformed Nicola Coughlan's lashes for every episode, I can see how the mascara adds another level.

Also, can we take a second to admire the packaging? The metallic pink tube is so sleek and luxurious. It's definitely a stand out in my mascara collection. (Note: It is prone to getting a bit scratched up overtime, so keep that in mind.)
