Trader Joe's Fans Are Obsessing Over This New Cheese
The perfect blend of spicy and creamy.

Ever stand frozen in front of Trader Joe’s cheese section because you can’t decide which cheese to get? You want ALL of them, but you have to pick just one or two. Everyone’s favorite grocery store just made it harder for us cheese lovers with the addition of a new soft cheese that fans are obsessing over.
It’s hard to argue with the fact that Trader Joe’s does have some great cheese selections. Its Unexpected Cheddar Cheese is part of the Trader Joe’s Hall of Fame. Its Cheddar Cheese with Caramelized Onions earned a Customer Choice Award. Even professional chefs are crazy about TJ’s cheeses.
The newest cheese is catching the attention of Trader Joe’s fans because it’s something a little different: Red Chili Pepper Fromage Pavé.
What Is Pavé?
Pavé is a category of creamy French cheese that’s similar to Brie, but it’s creamier. In the past, Trader Joe’s has sold a plain Fromage Pavé, usually around the holidays. This new Red Chili Pepper Fromage Pavé is similar, but it has the addition of red bell pepper and jalapeño pepper, according to the ingredient list.
Shannon of the Instagram account @traderjoesbsessed says, “It’s soft like brie and has so much flavor!” In response to a comment on the Instagram post, she says the addition of the peppers makes it “a little spicy but not much more flavorful.”
What Fans Are Saying
When Instagram’s @traderjoesafficianado shared a photo of the cheese, followers commented, “Yum! This is perfect for a board or as a grilled cheese. I love TJ’s fromage pave cheese! Must try!”
When Natasha Fischer of @traderjoeslist showed her followers the new cheese on her Instagram account, she pitted it against another new item from TJ's, gem lettuce, and asked her followers which they were most excited about.
“I LOVE the Fromage Pave so I will definitely try the red chili pepper one!” said one commenter. Another exclaimed, “SPICY CHEESE HECK TO THE YASSSS.” (Several people were also excited about the gem lettuce, mostly because they’d be great for lettuce wraps.)
Add this new cheese to the long list of Trader Joe’s products that fans obsess over, including lemon torchiette, sweet corn and burrata ravioli, Snacky Clusters, mini cheeseburgers, and so many others.
