These Two Outdoor Lovers Found the Perfect Spot To Say "I Do"

When you love to spend your free time hiking and camping, it's sort of a given that your wedding locale be smack-dab in the midst of the great outdoors. And for Shannon and Ryan, this meant turning to the team at Heavenly Mountain Resort for a wedding that was just as elegant as it was natural. From the breathtaking mountaintop ceremony to the rustic chic reception, we can't get enough of these two sweeties... or their stunning celebration.

When it came to a wedding venue, Shannon and Ryan wanted something that reflected their personalities as well as their hobbies. They both enjoy hiking, camping, and the great outdoors. When they visited Heavenly’s Lakeview Lodge, they found the natural beauty that they both share a passion for, along with a natural rustic inspiration. As they rode the Aerial Tram down the mountain they realized a Heavenly wedding was the only option for them.

On the day of the wedding, the bridesmaids arrived first at the Aerial Tram, which whisked them up to the private Lakeview Lodge at 8,200 feet. The gentleman showed up next, ready to have some fun and show their love for the couple. High above the shimmering waters of Lake Tahoe, Shannon and Ryan chose to do a private first look. Their attention then turned to the bridal party and immediate family. The wooden arch on the outdoor ceremony deck was whimsically decorated to match the free form bouquets. The couple’s dear friend Justin Johnson did the honors of uniting them, as friends and family enjoyed the nuptials on a typical Tahoe August day full of sunshine and warmth.

Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktails and taking pictures of each other with the jaw-dropping background of Lake Tahoe. They then entered Lakeview Lodge and dined inside while the Heavenly catering team took care of dinner. The geometric floral arrangements were a mix of metal, glass and floral seamlessly incorporating themselves into the natural beauty of the surroundings. Following the Heavenly prepared buffet dinner, the guests enjoyed a variety of different types of cupcakes prepared by Flour Girl Wedding Cakes.

The couple enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife on the outdoor terrace overlooking Lake Tahoe with all of their family and friends circled around them. The love in the air was contagious. Once the traditional dances were complete, the DJ filled the dance floor with guests and the group danced the night away under the stars. The mile long Tram ride down the mountain was the buttercream on the cupcake, as guests enjoyed the silhouette of the mountains and the shimmering lights around Lake Tahoe under a half moon. Shannon and Ryan’s private mountaintop wedding will not be forgotten by any that attended.

Whether you're planning a grand event for all of your friends and family or dream of a more intimate get-together of just your nearest and dearest, Heavenly Mountain Resort can definitely make it all happen with two private venues that will have your guests soaring high above the waters on the Ariel Tram or Gondola, even before the party begins.
