Ugg is kicking off Pride 2024 with the launch of its URSeen campaign.
The images in the campaign aim to highlight the LGBTQ+ community and the eye-catching apparel and footwear pieces Ugg has created for the month. The colorful collection was co-created by Alok Vaid-Menon, a writer and performing artist. Together with Vaid-Menon, Ugg continues to uphold its year-round mission to uplift queer voices. Including Vaid-Menon, the colorful campaign also includes other LGBTQ+ stars like B3ntl3y, Alyx Liu and Chrissy Etienne.
Cast in vibrant neon hues, Vaid-Menon and Ugg dreamt up their bold URSeen platform. Retailing for $180, the sky-high style comes in two striking gradient colorways that utilize a whole host of colors, including bright pink and dynamic green. The footwear style is akin to Ugg’s Tasman silhouette and features leather uppers, rounded toes, soft sheepskin lining, and pull tabs fastened to the heel for ease of wear. Thick platform soles round out the style, offering the wearer a lofty boost in height.
Accompanying the platform footwear, Vaid-Menon co-created two coordinating dresses, aptly titled the URSeen dress. Retailing for $128, the garments are designed with creativity, adaptability and confidence in mind. Crafted of plush faux fur inspired by the cozy feel of Ugg, the dress comes in neon green and pink offerings and features an asymmetrical bodice and a flattering form-fit.
“My childhood was about hiding myself, having to cover up, disappear, to not draw attention to myself. So, so much of what I was trying to do in this collection with UGG is to take something audacious like courage and put it into a platform shoe and bodycon dress, so that when people are feeling a little timid, putting on these pieces can actually give you that sense of power,” said Vaid-Menon in regards to co-creating their Ugg collection.
