UIC nursing graduates dive into the future in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — It’s graduation month, and students from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing celebrated with a special tradition in Champaign.

The nurses-to-be jump in a pool to wash off two years of hard work and prepare for the future. They’ve been doing this tradition for more than 10 years. Senior Abby Becker said this is what the finish line looks like.

“It’s awesome seeing everyone smiling, because there were times that were rough,” she said. “And this is just like a pinnacle moment, and it’s really exciting. I’m really proud of everyone.”

The seniors will graduate in Chicago on Thursday.
