Valerie Bertinelli

Valerie Bertinelli may be 63 years old, but the actress and Food Network star is having a hard time processing her age.

On Wednesday, Nov. 22, the Kids Baking Championship judge took to Instagram to open up about getting older in a vulnerable video.

"Anybody else out there my age just find it challenging to wrap their head around aging?" she asked her 1.4 million followers. "'Cause I'm in my 60s, I'm 63. Factually, I have spent more time young than I have being old. So I'm kind of adjusting."

Bertinelli added that her "body is adjusting for sure," detailing the changes that have creeped up in recent years.

"I mean, I can still jog upstairs but I can't run upstairs. I can still do a nice deep squat, but I gotta hold on that something to pull myself back up," she explained. "I always used to be able to sit in—what is that child's pose or whatever—when you're sitting on the back of your ankles. Boy, I can still do that but it's uncomfortable, let's say."

Additionally, Bertinelli vented about the "sagging" happening in parts of her body, including her forearms—lamenting how her inner and outer selves don't necessarily align.

"I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this aging stuff, right, because in my brain, I am still this young, goofy, let's have fun girl," she said.

Although, she noted that she doesn't miss her "brain" from her "20s and 30s and 40s." The former One Day at a Time actress concluded, "I'm so much more appreciative of what I've been through and how I've gotten here, but it's just mind-blowing, aging."

In the comments, Bertinelli's followers offered their words of wisdom and anecdotes of empathy.

One person wrote, "Heard one time 'inside every old person is a teenager saying, what the h—l just happened!'"

Another Instagram user commented, "My grandmother always said there’s no shame in getting old but it sure is inconvenient. I can understand that statement now."

Meanwhile someone else shared, "I tried to tuck my reading glasses into my shirt this morning. I wasn’t wearing a shirt. So, it’s going swimmingly over here."
