Stop what you’re doing (avoiding all your responsibilities, I get it) because Vanessa Hudgens has weighed in on Austin Butler’s Elvis voice. Which, as a reminder, sounds like this:

Whereas his previous voice sounded…like this:

Voice coach Irene Bartlett recently spoke about Elvis’s voice refusing to leave Austin’s body, telling ABC Gold Coast, “What you saw in that Golden Globes speech, that’s him. It’s genuine, it’s not put on. I feel sorry people are saying that, you know, it’s still acting, [but] he’s actually taken [the voice of Elvis] on board.”

This is objectively hilarious, and @RyinSkott (a great Insta follow, 10/10 recommend) went ahead and posted a series of perfect reactions. And WHOMST should show up in the comments but Vanessa, who simply wrote, “Crying.”

Pls be advised that this comment comes just days after Austin received a ton of backlash for calling Vanessa his “friend” while telling the story of how she manifested him playing Elvis.

“The month before I heard that Baz was making the movie, I was going to look at Christmas lights with a friend,” he said during a Hollywood Reporter roundtable. “And there was an Elvis Christmas song on the radio and I was singing along, and my friend looked over at me and goes, ‘You’ve gotta play Elvis!’…And then a couple of weeks later, I was playing the piano…that same friend was there, and I was playing the piano. She said, ‘I’m serious—you gotta figure out how you can get the rights to a script….’”

Vanessa previously told this story when they were dating (she was the “friend,” people), and naturally, Twitter has been unimpressed with Austin since:

In conclusion: Vanessa is a legend, the end.
