“It’s only one of four atmospheric theatres in the state,” Polk Theatre Sales Manager Ricky Johnson said. “You’re sitting in this literal 95-year-old piece of art.”

Polk Theatre even hosted Elvis Presley for a performance back in 1956.

According to theatre staff, Presley stayed in one of the upstairs dressing rooms and left his autograph on one of the walls.

Back in the 1980s, a non-profit was formed to help restore the theatre.
