Summer has finally arrived. And there's no better way to celebrate than with an ice-cold dessert. Actually, there is one better way – celebrating with a free ice-cold dessert.

On Thursday, Wendy's announced it's giving its customers the chance to snag a free small Frosty from now through the end of the month. To get it, though, you need to order a Biggie Bag through the Wendy's app.

In case you're unfamiliar, the Biggie Bag is Wendy's $5 meal deal that comes with a choice of a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger or Crispy Chicken Sandwich, paired with 4-piece Nuggs, Jr. Hot and Crispy Fries, and a small soft drink. And now, with that all-important Frosty too. To get it, you just need to log into the app (or create an account if you don't have one, it's free), place your mobile order, or scan the in-app offer in person at any participating restaurant. And, if you happen to be ordering from UberEats, you can add a free medium Triple Berry Frosty to any order of $15 or more through June 24.

In case you hadn't heard, Wendy's dropped the new Triple Berry Frosty a few weeks ago, which Wendy's says, combines three fruit flavors, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries that give it both a "vibrant color" and "creamy texture." And really, there's no better time to try it, as it's a limited-time flavor that likely won't last past summer.

Wendy's is just the latest fast-food giant to offer customers new, lower-priced deals in an effort to entice the inflation-weary public back into its restaurants. Over the last few post-pandemic years, fast food pricing (along with grocery store pricing) has seen a massive surge, leading to sluggish sales and many people calling fast food the new "luxury." Wendy's, in particular, experienced a worse-than-expected fourth quarter in 2023, causing its stock price to fall to its lowest share point in 12 months. And perhaps deals like this are the shot in the arm the company needs to both bring back its loyal fanbase who rave about the much-beloved Frosty.

Those looking for other $5 meal deals will have no trouble finding them. McDonald's is offering its own deal, as is Burger King. At least now they're all cheap enough that you can splurge on all three and decide which one is the real victor.
