Season 1 was a cult hit. Literally. And now Showtime has dropped a teaser for the second season of Yellowjackets, getting fans even more excited for when the thrilling drama series returns on March 24.

As is to be expected, the new clip gives next to nothing away about the plot of the upcoming season, consisting almost entirely of disparate, disconnected shots of our main characters and their younger selves across the show's two timelines. But it does include a small handful of details.

To begin with, we officially have our first look at the present-day version of Lottie Matthews, having only seen her as a teenager in the 1996 flashbacks. The teaser clip opens with Natalie (Juliette Lewis) having some kind of hypnotherapy session with the adult Lottie, played by Simone Kessell, although considering Season 1 ended with Nat's abduction, it's plausible that Lottie is actually holding her against her will.

An ongoing plot thread in Season 1 revolved around whether Lottie was mentally ill or possessed some kind of prophetic gift, or even some combination of the two, and it was only revealed at the very end of the season finale that she survived the wilderness and was alive in the present day. Although that will have come as no surprise to anybody who watched her slaughter a bear in the woods and form her own nascent cult. While the identity of the mysterious Antler Queen is still technically a mystery, our money is on Lottie Matthews.

Speaking of characters whose grip on their sanity and foray into the supernatural might go hand in hand: there are some ominous-looking frames of Taissa (Tawny Cypress). Throughout much of Season 1, Taissa seemed to be holding herself together with more aplomb than her fellow survivors, that is until the unsettling revelation that she was the stranger in the tree terrorizing her child, and that she's been conducting secret rituals in a hidden room. Whether this is some kind of second personality that comes out when she's sleepwalking or something even more sinister remains to be seen.

Strangely, we don't see a great deal of Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), our ostensible protagonist, in the new teaser, with the footage focusing on Natalie's narration ("Darkness. We brought it back with us.") and Misty's emotional journey. In addition to seeing her vulnerable side (we didn't know the budding serial killer had one!), it also looks like Misty has made a friend in fellow citizen detective Elijah Wood, who joins the cast in a recurring guest role.

Wood's as-yet-unnamed character really does sum up both the plot and the appeal of Yellowjackets best: "Kidnapping, cults, death. Your friendships are a little more complicated than most."
