1 dead, 2 hurt after car crashes into utility pole in Avondale
One person is dead and two others are injured after a car crashed into a utility pole in Avondale early Friday.
Officers were sent to Beldare Avenue and Vine Street at 1:50 a.m. to investigate the crash, according to a news release from Cincinnati police.
Police said a 32-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Altima northbound on Vine Street when she lost control of the vehicle in a curve, traveled off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. She sustained injuries not considered life threatening and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
A 34-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He is currently listed in critical condition.
Another passenger, a 35-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital where she died.
No one in the car was wearing a seat belt, police said. Excessive speed and impairment are being investigated as factors in the crash.
