Pedestrian killed in crash on N. Military Hwy. in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man has died after he was hit by a car on North Military Highway in Norfolk Friday night, according to police.

Police said the call came in for the crash on the 500 block of North Military Highway around 10:50 p.m. That’s near Poplar Hall Drive and the former Military Circle Mall.

When officers arrived on the scene, the found the man suffering from serious injuries. The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Police said the driver was not injured and remained at the scene. NPD does not believe speed and alcohol were involved.

The victim’s identity will be released once police notify his next of kin.
