16-year-old hurt in Decatur shooting

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A 16-year-old was hurt in a shooting in Decatur Tuesday evening.

It happened near 6:11 p.m. in the area of West Center and North Huron Streets. A witness told Decatur Police that a group was walking down the street when an unknown vehicle approached. Gunfire started coming from the car, striking the 16-year-old in the hip.

The teen was taken to the hospital via personal transport. Police tried contacting the victim for more information on the incident, but said he was not cooperative.

No suspects or arrests have been made at this time.
