17-year-old boy remains critical after Tuesday night crash at Creasy and Indiana 38

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A 17-year-old Lafayette boy remains in critical condition Thursday morning after a Tuesday night crash at Indiana 38 and Creasy Lane, Lafayette police said.

The teen was driving a 2001 Mustang east on Indiana 38 when a westbound 2006 Hummer H3 driven by Evens Simeon, 34, of Lafayette, attempted to turn left onto Creasy Lane at about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Simeon turned into the path of the Mustang, and the two collided in the intersection, according to Lafayette police.

Simeon was not seriously injured and was released from an area hospital after treatment, police said.

The teen remained hospitalized in critical condition, police said Thursday when asked for an update.

Police closed the intersection for about three hours to allow crash reconstruction specialists to investigate the accident.
