2 alleged gang members charged in 2021 death of National Guardsman

CHICAGO — Two men have been indicted on federal racketeering charges in connection with the 2021 murder of a 19-year-old military service member on the city’s Northwest Side.

Prosecutors allege 40-year-old Gary Roberson and 41-year-old Joseph Matos murdered National Guardsman Chrys Carvajal on July 3 to maintain and increase their positions in a Milwaukee Kings street gang.
