A second person has died from a car crash that occurred in Avondale earlier this month, Cincinnati police announced Friday.

Around 2 a.m. on June 7, officers responded to 3500 Vine Street to investigate a fatal crash.

Police said a 32-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Altima northbound on Vine Street when she lost control of the vehicle in a curve, traveled off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.

A 35-year-old female passenger died in the hospital the same day of the crash after succumbing to serious injuries.

A 34-year-old male passenger was in the hospital for almost two weeks before he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

Police did not name either passenger in the crash.

The driver sustained injuries not considered life-threatening and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She is in stable condition, police said.

No one in the car was wearing a seat belt, police said. Excessive speed and impairment are being investigated as factors in the crash.

Police are asking any witnesses to call traffic investigators at 513-352-2514.
