Truck driver arrested after fatal crash on I-380

ROARING BROOK TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One man is dead and another man has been arrested after a crash that occurred on I-380 early Friday morning.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred around 3:00 A.M. on the offramp from I-380 onto I-84 East when a tractor trailer collided with a Chevy Malibu.

PSP Dunmore confirmed that 60-year-old Edward Loftus from Olyphant died as a result of the crash. Vadym Petrovych Razhyk, 54, from Sarasota, Florida who was driving the tractor trailer was arrested at the scene, according to PSP.

State police say Razhyk made an unsafe lane change from the far right lane to the far left exit of the highway and hit the victim’s car while he was traveling in the center lane.

Razhyk has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person and other summary offenses.

I-380 South and the offramp onto I-84 East were closed in that area but have since re-opened.
