40 pounds of meth seized from Bakersfield properties

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Deputies on Thursday seized 40 pounds of methamphetamine, 76 pounds of marijuana and a loaded gun from three properties in Bakersfield and arrested a suspected drug trafficker from Mexico, according to sheriff’s officials.

The drugs were found after search warrants were served on properties on Cottonwood Road, Anderson Street and Missouri Avenue, officials said. A 42-year-old man from Mexico City was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and transportation for sales and maintaining a residence for drug sales.

The man used several homes and a ranch property in an attempt to hide his illicit activity, officials said.
