6 injured in crash that closes two lanes of I-77 near uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A crash has closed lanes of Interstate 77 at near uptown Thursday afternoon.

According to the N.C. Department of Transportation, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on I-77 North at Brookshire Freeway (Exit 11). The left two lanes are blocked at the scene.

According to Medic officials, six people were transported to a hospital for minor injuries.

The scene is expected to be cleared by 3:35 p.m. As of 3;10 p.m., traffic was backed up to near Clanton Road (Exit 7).
