Alzheimer’s Association promoting brain health, awareness this June

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — June is Alzheimer’s and Brain awareness month. It’s a time to recognize to take charge of your brain health and join the fight to end Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, nearly 80,000 Oregonians live with the disease, with more than 170,000 caring for them.

Hudson S. Tyler is marketing and communications manager with the Alzheimer’s Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington. He joined AM Extra in studio to discuss the impacts of Alzheimer’s, ways to promote better brain health, as well as the future of research and treatment for Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
