Amherst man on Jamestown police’s ‘most wanted’ list found in Ohio

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jamestown police said someone on their Top 10 Most Wanted list has been taken into custody after months on the run.

According to police, a warrant for Amherst resident Evan Nix’s arrest was issued through Jamestown City Court after he was allegedly found to be a felon in possession of a loaded gun during an incident late last year.

Authorities said that with help from the United States Marshals Service and police in Ohio, the 37-year-old was taken into custody in Wooster, Ohio.

After being extradited to Jamestown, Nix was arraigned this past Saturday and held without bail.

Nix is scheduled to be back in court for a felony hearing later this week.
