Amtrak crash in North Tonawanda claims three lives, including six-year-old boy

Three people were killed, including a six-year-old boy, after an Amtrak train hit a pickup on the tracks in North Tonawanda.

The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. on Friday at Felton Street and River Road, according to the North Tonawanda Police Department.

Authorities confirmed on Saturday morning that all three occupants of the pickup had died.

First responders attempted resuscitation, but the victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to North Tonawanda Police Capt. Daryl Truty., the three occupants were a 69-year-old male, a 66-year-old female, and a 6-year-old male.

The crash remains under investigation.
