Azle PD make arrest in homicide investigation

Jun. 18—AZLE — A man was arrested last week in connection to the body of a woman, reported missing last month, found in a backyard residence in Azle.

Azle police initially arrested Shane Breshers June 14 on a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, with an additional charge of murder added.

According to police, the department received a missing persons report for Heather Treibly, 43, who was last seen in Azle on May 27.

On June 12, officers responded to the 100 block of Ty Lane after a report of suspicious incident, and located an unidentified deceased body, later determined to be Treibly through unique tattoos known to investigators.

Breshers was identified by police as the primary suspect and arrested without incident. As of Tuesday, he remained in the Tarrant County Jail on a $650,000 combined bond.
