Bainbridge woman nearly crushed in garbage truck, reports

BAINBRIDGE, GA (WDH) — A woman was nearly crushed to death in a garbage truck trash compactor Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, the woman was inside the dumpster behind Captain D’s at 929 E Shotwell Street in Bainbridge around noon when a garbage truck began emptying it, and she fell into the compactor.

Reports go on to say the woman’s screams as she was falling were heard by employees at the next-door package store and the truck driver.

The driver did not turn on the compactor, and the woman was transported to a Bainbridge hospital before being life-flighted to a separate hospital, reports claim.
