Bill Cole Subaru donates pillows and blankets for cancer patients at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital is getting a bit cozier.

Increased accessibility for cancer treatment for patients in rural areas

Princeton’s Bill Cole Subaru is donating pillows and blankets to WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. These pillows and blankets will be given to cancer patients at the hospital.

Karen Bowling, the hospital’s CEO, explained to 59News how these blankets and pillows will help cancer patients at the hospital.

“One of the biggest symptoms that our cancer patients have is that they are cold. That is the result of chemotherapy and the other types of therapy that they might be having,” said Bowling. “It is nice for them to have a nice cuddly blanket and a pillow. It makes them feel better when they’re receiving their therapy. Many of them take them home and use it at home and then bring it back.”

Bowling commented that these blankets and pillows arrived at a good time, as they just ran out of the ones they had.
