Boat catches fire near dock area at Outer Harbor

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A boat caught fire at a dock area at the Outer Harbor on Thursday night, according to city officials.

Police said the call came in just before 6:45 p.m. Two people were on the boat when the fire started and firefighters were able to put out the fire a short time later.

One male suffered minor burns and was treated at the scene. Damages are estimated at around $30,000, including $25,000 to the boat and $5,000 to the dock.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
