BPD vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian on South Union Avenue
A Bakersfield Police Department vehicle crashed into a pedestrian who died from his injuries around 3:30 a.m. Monday in the 1500 block of South Union Avenue.
According to BPD, two officers were responding to an incident in downtown Bakersfield when they hit the pedestrian. Both officers have been placed on administrative leave while BPD investigates the incident.
According to BPD, one of the officers sustained minor injuries from the crash.
The pedestrian who was killed will be identified by the Kern County coroner’s office.
