Cajun baseball wins third straight, beats Southern 17-7 in 7

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Louisiana baseball faces a pair of in-state opponents before its conference opener Friday.

The first is Southern.

The Cajuns beat the Jaguars 17-7 in 7 innings.

Louisiana scored the first 9 runs of the game.

Southern would explode for 7 runs between the top of the 6th and 7th innings to shrink the deficit to 3.

The Cajuns would respond, scoring 7 times in the bottom of the frame and ending via run rule.

Clay Wargo went 0-0 with 3 RBI.

LP Langevin (2-0) struck out 7 of the 8 batters he faced in 2.2 innings of work; he picked up the win.

Louisiana hosts Mcneese Wednesday night at M.L. Tigue Moore Field at Russo Park.
